On May 9 an unprecedented crowd maxed out the capacity of the Buffalo Grand hotel to hear the plan of reducing Buffalo abortions by 50% in five years. The group applauded hearing a vision and plan to cut Buffalo abortions in half. In the face of the barbaric actions of New York’s recent deregulation of abortion via the Reproductive Health Act, attendees demonstrated resounding support for this vision by raising approximately $262,000, covering operational expenses for the remainder of the year as well as 10% of the budget per year for the next five years.
The plan to consolidate the efforts of Northtown Pregnancy Center and Southtowns Pregnancy Center under the leadership of CompassCare is already having the intended impact through CompassCare Buffalo! As of now, CompassCare Buffalo has nearly doubled its reach to women considering abortion. Services to those women are being supplemented by nurses from Rochester while new nurses from Buffalo are being on-boarded and trained in the critical life-saving work. Streamlining several organizations into one operation eliminates redundancies, freeing more resources for direct mission services. Your investment helps reach more women considering abortion and serve them in a way the helps them have their babies more consistently.
To cut Buffalo abortions by half over the next five years it is imperative that a fully functional facility and staff be in place by September 1. While continuing to serve women, the team is simultaneously working toward relocating to a facility large enough to handle the increasing patient load. By the time relocation is complete in September it is expected CompassCare Buffalo will have a fully trained team of nurses in order to aggressively ramp up marketing.
CompassCare Buffalo needs a larger facility to expand from one exam room to three, fully equipped with exam tables, sinks, and ultrasound machines. If you were not able to attend the fundraising banquet and would like to express your pro-life passion through this vision of reducing Buffalo abortions by 50% in five years, now is a great time to do just that.
If God has blessed you with both the passion and the means to invest financially there are two basic kinds of financial resources the vision requires, a) ongoing operations and b) one time facilities and equipment.
For ongoing operating expenses it costs CompassCare Buffalo $570 to provide one woman considering abortion with all the support and security she needs to empower her to say ‘no’ to abortion and have her baby. To underwrite all operational expenses for the five year vision an equivalent of only 405 donors sponsoring one woman a year for five years is needed.
One time facilities and equipment investment needed to increase the infrastructure to serve an increased patient load will be determined by how much a facility will cost and if it needs renovations. At this point it is estimated a facility will cost approximately $350,000 and may need to be remodeled to provide medical care, costing up to another $50,000. Beyond that, CompassCare Buffalo only needs $11,000 more to cover the cost of two more ultrasound machines and exam tables.
There are at least three ways you can invest:
- Pray by signing up for PrayerNet to receive regular requests from the exam room.
- Give financially – a five year pledge for operational expenses or a one-time gift towards facilities and equipment.
- Serve through various volunteer opportunities, ranging from patient reception to facilities renovation.
Women considering abortion feel stuck, like they need to have an abortion. CompassCare Buffalo’s job is to erase the need for abortion one woman at a time through ethical medical care and community support.
With your passion and partnership this vision of helping a woman have her baby, while watching the abortion rate fall over five years, is becoming a reality. It is an honor to serve the Lord alongside you.
Together, erasing the need for abortion one woman,
